WILLIAMSPORT COMMUNITY CONCERT ASSOCIATION WILL ENDURE THROUGH MERGER WITH LYCOMING COLLEGE Lycoming College is pleased to announce an exciting enhancement to its music program through a merger with the Williamsport Community Concert Association (WCCA). Through this new relationship, the legacy of the WCCA will be sustained and the concerts and musical performances provided through the College’s department of music will be augmented and enriched. Lycoming College’s WCCA Endowed Program Fund will bring a diversity of musical performances to the Williamsport region, nurturing public interest in high quality music as well as encouraging a deeper appreciation for the performing arts. “Lycoming College is pleased to be entrusted with the legacy of the WCCA. We look forward to expanding the variety of concerts and artists that will perform in Williamsport with the support of the new WCCA Endowed Program Fund,” said Philip Sprunger, Ph.D. provost of Lycoming. “We want to thank Cynthia Staiman Vosk and the WCCA board for the opportunity to carry on the rich history of the organization as we seek to enhance the musical and cultural life of the city.” Since starting to play the violin at age 10, music has been something that makes my life feel whole. Music creates a tightly- knit community. Being able to learn a new piece in an ensemble and seeing it come together through the work each person has put in is such a rewarding feeling. My love for music has only grown since coming to Lycoming. The aspect I’m most looking forward to with the new music building is having a space that will meet the growing needs of those involved in the music department. – Mary “Birdie” Hadfield ’24 Music and anthropology double-major SUPPORT THE NEW MUSIC FACILITY PROJECT Through the generosity of donors who believe in the transformative power of music, every gift made in support of the music facility project will help ensure the gift of music lives on for generations to come. Gifts of $5,000 or more will be recognized on a permanent plaque in the new facility. Alumni of Lycoming’s music program supporting the project at this level will also have the opportunity to honor the music faculty who were transformational in their lives. These distinguished faculty members will be honored with a physical tribute so that future Warriors may know of their contributions to the College’s rich musical tradition.
