03 Thomas G. Coale was recently elected to the board of trustees for the Maryland Science Center, an interactive science museum located in Baltimore, Md. Laura Mathews recently joined the team at Evercor Facility Management as an Account Manager in both the Lancaster and Mechanicsburg, Pa., offices. She has over 15 years of experience in category management and excels in developing strategic relationships and providing exceptional customer service. Prior to her new role, she was the purchasing and merchandising manager at Cooper-Booth Wholesale Company. Steve Sharp is thrilled to announce his latest publication, co-authored with 2017 New Jersey School Counselor of the Year Angela Cleveland. “50+ Tech Tools for School Counselors: How to Be More Engaging, Efficient, and Effective,” published by Corwin Press and available on Amazon.com, provides insightful descriptions of tools that can be used to not only enrich intervention and instruction but also guide decision making, streamline work, enhance communication, and promote happier students. Steve was the 2017 Middle School Counselor of the Year for Pennsylvania and is the president-elect of the Pennsylvania School Counselors Association. Nathan Tatro was recently promoted to associate director of digital health at the American Psychiatric Association in Washington, D.C., where he has worked since 2015. In this role, Nate leads activities around legislative and regulatory policy issues related to telepsychiatry, electronic health records, mobile health, and artificial intelligence in mental health treatment. He resides in Arlington, Va. 04 Eugene Melvin and Abigail (Franks) ’05 welcomed a new baby boy into their family. Jack Charles Melvin was born on March 21, 2019. He joins big brothers Ethan (5) and Henry (3). Tim Sullivan and his wife, Courtney, are pleased to announce the birth of their second daughter, Emma Shea, on Sept. 14, 2018. Emma, lovingly carried by a gestational surrogate due to complications with Courtney’s first pregnancy, was born at the Florida Hospital for Children in Orlando. After a six-week stay in the NICU, Emma is now home with big sister, Kayla Marie. Dr. Amy Curry and Adrienne Wydra-Curry ’02 , are proud to announce their newest addition to the family, a son, Declan Makani Wydra-Curry, born on Oct. 5, 2018. Kevin Socha was recently promoted to vice president, head of life and annuity strategic 05 A&RW Celebrate your 15 th Reunion at finance, at Voya Financial. In the role, he will have accountability for financial reporting and forecasting of Voya’s individual life and annuity businesses as well as be a key business leader in driving the strategic direction of the segments. Kevin will also serve as chief financial officer and on the board of directors of several Voya insurance companies. He lives in West Chester, Pa., and has been with Voya for 14 years serving in a variety of actuarial and financial roles. 06 Janelle Heiserman earned a doctorate in adult education from The Pennsylvania State University. She successfully defended her dissertation, titled “Untold History: Historical Fiction Literature as Critical Public Pedagogy,” in March 2019. 08 Alex Andrasik has co-founded a non-profit literary magazine, now in production on its third annual issue. With author and Yates County native Bethany Snyder, Andrasik’s venture, Bluff & Vine , offers a portrait of the Keuka Lake region in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. The editors donate proceeds from the sale of the magazine to local service organizations. Copies are available on Amazon.com or, if you’re ever taking I-86 north from Williamsport, they can be found in local bookstores and libraries around Keuka. Andrasik, who received his master’s degree in library and information studies from the University at Buffalo, is the adult services librarian at Penn Yan Public Library. There are only about 250 national match officials selected each year in the United States. Brian is also in the Professional Referee Organization’s Development Group for 2019. Cassie (Kaiser) married Kevin Sung on Nov. 17, 2018, at the Line in Washington, D.C. Marshall with a national referee coach from his region at National Camp 44 LYCOMING COLLEGE 2019 FALL MAGAZINE
