99 Christian Frey was elected by the members of the Lycoming Law Association (LLA) to serve as their 118 th president. He has served as a bar leader since 2013 (in the capacity as treasurer in 2016 and 2017). Heather Myers has joined the international staff of Hugh O’Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership as the director of national programs for Region O. In her role, she oversees volunteers in the mid-west region of the U.S. For more than 60 years, HOBY has been dedicated to training and nurturing the young leaders of tomorrow. Its mission is to provide lifelong leadership development opportunities that empower youth to achieve their highest potential and gain knowledge of leadership skills. HOBY hosts 70 leadership seminars annually across the country for high school sophomores and holds programs in 11 countries. Heather resides in South Williamsport, Pa. Jennifer Heverly passes the “gavel” to Christian Frey at the LLA’s annual meeting on Jan. 14, 2019 01 In Loving Memory Jovie Eliza, daughter of Sandra (Utsch) Jameson and Donald Jameson, was born on Nov. 25, 2018, at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She passed away on November 26 from complications of congenital diaphragmatic hernia. 02 Matthew Jenkins was recently appointed assistant principal of Fairview Elementary School in the Waynesboro Area School District. He earned his Pennsylvania K-12 principal certification through Wilkes University. The Makos brothers’ fourth book, “Spearhead,” tells the incredible true story of a legendary World War II tank gunner named Clarence Smoyer, who led the U.S. Army into its largest urban battle in Europe in the city of Cologne, Germany, knocking out five enemy tanks along the way. The Makos brothers first learned of Smoyer from their friend, Pete Semanoff ’06 , while studying at Lycoming College. Semanoff had discovered Smoyer — who shared the hometown of Lehighton, Pa. — and brought his story to the brothers’ attention.
