05 Michael Ruddy was sworn into office as tax collector for Dunmore, Pa. The oath was administered by his uncle, a former federal judge and fellow Lycoming College alumnus, the honorable Tom Vanaskie ’75 ’15H. 08 Sodexo USA PRIDE Chair, AJ Francavilla, has been recognized by Business Equality Magazine as one of the Forty Under 40 LGBTQ+ Leaders for 2022. Throughout his career, AJ has led by example by being a visible advocate for his colleagues and by elevating the voices of new LGBTQ+ team members to ensure there is a pipeline for leadership opportunities. Terese and Tony Mackin welcomed a son, Michael Joseph, on Jan. 19, 2022. He joins big sister, Virginia (5), and brother, John “Jack” (3). 09 Ashley Deitrick and Matthew Winder welcomed a son, Gene Emerson, on Aug. 16, 2021. He joins big sister, Charlotte (6). Michael Ruddy with the honorable Tom Vanaskie 14 Melanie (Shepheard) Rojas was presented the Outstanding Professional Educator Award by the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce for her extraordinary contributions to the education profession in the South Williamsport Area School District where she is the reading specialist for grades K-4 at Central Elementary. Melanie is grateful for the education she received at Lycoming and is proud to pay it forward with donations to the education department to aid in the success of future teachers. Phoebe Wagner has signed a contract as assistant professor of English at Lycoming College. She returned to her alma mater in the fall of 2021 as visiting lecturer and is currently completing her Ph.D. in literature. Phoebe is the co-editor of “Sunvault: Stories of Solarpunk and Eco-Speculation,” as well as two forthcoming anthologies: “Almanac for the Anthropocene: A Compendium of Solarpunk Futures” (nonfiction), and “Fight for the Future: An Anthology of Solarpunk and Cyberpunk Tales.” Her debut novel, “A Shot of Gin,” is scheduled for publication in 2023, as is her novella, “We Survive When We Hold Each Other Up.” Tanya (Farr) Cifarelli celebrated her wedding to Artie Cifarelli on Sept. 25, 2021, in Williamsport, Pa., with her AXiD Iota Mu sisters in attendance.
