Karen Brungardt , D.O., is pleased to announce the publication of her debut sci-fi novel, Exchanger , on Amazon.com, i-books, Barnes & Noble, and elsewhere. This is the first book in the Exchanger series, available in both e-book and paperback. Jessi, the main character, will be the only human in an alien university. The adventure starts even before she can get to the planet Amorpha as she travels the universe. She wins a coveted spot as the first foreign exchange student to learn about an alien culture while living with an alien family to complete her last year of studies before medical school. The honor, however, is tinged with sadness and bitterness. Her brother, whom she’s never known, died on the starship, StarFinder, many years ago when her parents emigrated from one planet to another. Now Jessi’s traveling on the same StarFinder, but first she has to survive the trip there. Danger stalks her as she tries to find out why her brother died. Also, look for Karen’s recently published sci-fi novella on Amazon.com, Dr. Trouble , using experiences from her medical practice in this fun, futuristic book. George Schenk , Bill Macdonald , Dave Hammett , Dean Al Smith, Bruce Carpenter , and Mark Pile met Oct. 24-27, 2019, at Mark’s cabin in Shunk, Pa., to visit and reminisce. They’ve done it again. The Lycoming College alumnae creative team of Pamela Wight (author), Shelley Steinle ’76 (illustrator), and Easty Lambert- Brown (publisher), have followed their first illustrated children’s book, Birds of Paradise (International Book Awards Finalist), with Molly Finds Her Purr , a tale of a cat who can’t find any friends. And almost worse, she can’t find her purr. After looking for friendship in all the wrong places, Molly learns that making friends is as easy as looking up in the trees and on the ground. Whether hard-shelled or soft as a bunny, Molly discovers that everyone needs friendships that help them find their purr. This sweet tale shines with illustrations filled with affectionate humor that follow Molly’s search for the universal need of acceptance and love. Each page of the book includes a hidden dragonfly. Molly can be found at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Borgo Publishing ( www.borgopublishing.com) or through Easty’s bookstore, Ernest and Hadley (www. ernestandhadleybooks.com) .
