With more than 50 programs and services available for New Jersey residents living with epilepsy, autism, intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities, and chronic illness, FRN and its affiliates have been affecting lives of thousands of families across New Jersey for the past 49 years. NAFA Fleet Management Association (NAFA), the vehicle fleet industry’s largest membership association, announced Bill Schankel , CAE, as its new chief executive officer. Bill has served as NAFA’s interim CEO since August 2019. He joined the organization in September 2017 as chief of staff and operations. Prior to joining NAFA, he spent the last 20 years in roles leading associations, most recently as executive director for the Association of Information Technology Professionals and America Mosquito Control Association. Previously, he was responsible for strategic direction, operations, event management, and income development for associations including the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers, New Jersey State Bar Association, and National Kitchen & Bath Association. He earned his MBA from DeSales University. 97 Jennifer (Stolting) Kirby is a recipient of the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) regional AZBEE Award of Excellence for “Conquering Opioid Addiction,” an article she wrote about an optometrist who overcame opioid addiction. From ASBPE’s website, the award program is “one of the most competitive there is for business- to-business, trade, association, and professional publications. The awards recognize outstanding work by magazines, newsletters, and digital media — Web sites, e-newsletters, digital magazines, and blogs.” Jennifer is a senior editor at Optometric Management magazine, a business publication for optometrists, and managing editor of Corneal Physician , a trade publication for ophthalmologists who specialize in corneal disease. As an English creative writing major while attending Lycoming, she credits Drs. Darby Lewes and G.W. Hawkes with providing her invaluable lessons on writing as a craft. 98 Pete Metzgar was awarded the Caregility Top Sales Leader board award at the 2020 Caregility National Sales Meeting in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in January 2020 for the second year in a row. Pete made a career change in 2011 from elementary art teacher for 11 years in the Charlotte, N.C., area to migrating to the healthcare industry where he sells Telemedicine and Telehealth hardware and software solutions to large health systems, focusing on critical care, stroke care, virtual visits, and patient observation. He lives in the Charlotte area with his wife Amy, son Brentley, and daughter Brooklyn. 03 Holly Wendt was awarded tenure and promoted to associate professor of English at Lebanon Valley College, where they are director of creative writing. Holly’s fiction is forthcoming from Shenandoah literary magazine. 06 Summer (Beretsky) Bukeavich received her Doctor of Education degree in educational leadership and management in June 2020 from Drexel University. Her dissertation research examined undergraduate business management student perceptions of mindfulness, and mindfulness’s intersection with the study and practice of management. While at Drexel, she also co-designed an open-access microcredential course called “Mindfulness and Optimal Performance” designed to help students both integrate mindfulness into their daily lives and to engage in metacognitive practices that enhance their academic performance. Summer is currently an assistant professor of business administration at Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport where she teaches courses on marketing, management, and social media. 04 Deborah (Weinberg) and Matthew Edmonds ’02 are proud to announce the birth of their third child. Hope Polly was born on Feb. 9, 2019. She joins big sister, Noelle (4), and big brother, Michael (8).
