74 The Rev. Dr. Barry Dawson and his wife, Shelly, recently completed five years of international mission service for the Presbyterian Church (USA) while serving as the regional liaisons for Southeast Asia. Although they were based in Bangkok, Thailand, their regional responsibilities included building partnerships and collaborative community development work in Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Lao PDR, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines. This summer they relocated to Bonn, Germany, where Barry now is serving as the senior pastor of the American Protestant Church, an international, interdenominational, English language congregation comprised of members from more than 30 nations. Barry previously has served as the senior pastor of international congregations in The Hague, Netherlands; Tokyo, Japan; Paris, France; and Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. 76 James Rich was inducted into the South Central Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2018 on June 1. Rich’s sports career began in Williamsport where he played in the original Little League. He played football at Cumberland Valley High School and later at Lycoming where he was the school's first player to be elected all- conference both as an offensive and defensive player. Rich was inducted into Cumberland Valley High School’s inaugural football hall of fame in 1997 and inducted into Lycoming’s Sports Hall of Fame in 2011. He was also selected in 2012 to the Middle Atlantic Conference’s All-Century Team for the 1970-82 era. Pamela (Isenberger) Williams was elected in November 2017 to serve as a Columbia (Pa.) Borough Councilwoman, serving a term of four years. Currently chair of its Parks and Recreation committee, this committee is working with a consultant to create a park plan that will include updated infrastructure and creative recreation opportunities for Columbia residents. 80 John “Jack” Lea offered the invocation at the 2018 Bipartisan Policy Center’s Patriot Awards. BPC’s Patriot Award recognizes leaders who demonstrate political courage and exceptional leadership throughout their careers, even in the most partisan of times. The award honors Americans who, in placing the interests of the nation above all else, bring credibility and honor to government. Previous recipients of the award were Rep. Sam Johnson of Texas, Rep. John Lewis of Georgia, and former Vice President Joe Biden. John “Jace” Scala is currently featured in a web film detailing the efforts to resurrect the planetarium he operated for 29 years. This vignette is one of several comprising the film titled “Transmissions.” Along with the film, www.transmissionsfilms. com includes the impetus behind the project and the biographies of its directors who contributed to its creation. 84 One Financial Services, a financial firm in Lehigh Valley, Pa., of which Emilio “Jack” Morrone is principal and co-founder, adopted two families from Third Street Alliance and Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 and donated gifts to ten Lehigh Valley Miracle League children this past holiday season. As a part of the firm’s mission to help the local community, One Financial Services and its employees contributed by purchasing gifts the children and families requested in hopes of making their holiday season a little brighter. Domenic “Dom” Pacitti became co-chair of Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg LLP’s Bankruptcy/Corporate Restructuring Department in January 2019. 86 Lynn Malzone Ierardi , Esq. has been elected to serve as chair of the national board of directors of the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners beginning Jan. 1, 2019. Lynn has served as director of gift planning for the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) since 2005, and also as an independent gift planning consultant. Prior to joining Penn, she held gift planning positions in health and higher education, served as vice president with the Merrill Lynch Center for Philanthropy, and practiced estate planning and real estate law. As a dynamic and highly rated speaker, she has presented on estate and charitable gift planning topics at various regional and national conferences and meetings.
