James Helsel Jr. was recently elected chairman of the Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority that owns Harrisburg International Airport and three other regional airports in south central Pennsylvania. He is the third generation to own Helsel Inc. Realtors in Camp Hill, Pa., specializing in commercial sales, leasing, property management, counseling, and appraisal services. He currently serves as a regional vice president for the Institute of Real Estate Management, the premiere professional property management association in the U.S. A recipient of the Distinguished Service Award and past treasurer of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), he will serve as the 2020 president of the Real Estate Business Institute, a division of the NAR. Jim also serves on the Cornwall Manor Church Home Foundation trust committee, overseeing approximately $23 million in endowment funds. He and his wife, Carol, live in Lemoyne, Pa. They have two children, Jill and Mike. The Hon. Thomas I. Vanaskie (Ret.) has joined the panel in Philadelphia of JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution services. Vanaskie joins JAMS after a distinguished 24-year career on the federal bench including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and 75 80 A&RW A&RW Celebrate your 45 th Reunion at Celebrate your 40 th Reunion at the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. His career has been deeply rooted in technology and data science, previously serving on the Information Technology Committee of the Judicial Conference of the United States, the policymaking body for U.S. courts. Since 2007, he has served as an adjunct professor of law at the Penn State Dickinson School of Law, presenting a course on electronic evidence. In 2016, Vanaskie was appointed by Chief Justice John Roberts to serve on the Judicial Conference Space and Facilities Committee. 76 Nancy Conrad was presented the Anne X. Alpern Award by the Pennsylvania Bar Association Commission on Women in the Profession in May 2019. The Alpern Award is presented annually to “a female lawyer or judge who demonstrates excellence in the legal profession and who makes a significant professional impact on women in the law.” Nancy is an attorney with White and Williams LLP in Lehigh County. William Carlucci was recently inducted as a distinguished alumnus of Loyalsock High School at the spring awards ceremony. Distinguished alumni recipients are displayed on the Alumni Hall of Fame in the Loyalsock Township High School lobby. Designation as a distinguished alumni award recipient shall be a credit to the Distinguished Alumni Award, The Lancer Foundation, and the Loyalsock Township School District Foundation. William is a partner with Elion, Grieco, Carlucci, & Shipman P.C. in Williamsport. Timothy Harley recently retired as executive director of The Jimmy Stewart Museum, a position he held since 2004, as well as president of the museum for the past several years. The museum, located in Indiana, Pa., plays homage to the life of the famous actor. “I’ve given of my time and talent and hope that has allowed us to keep the memory alive up to this point,” Harley said about his service to the museum. “I’m hoping that a new vision can breathe some additional vitality into this meaningful and important story.” 79 In 2016, B. Allen Bernstorf Jr., M.Ed., retired from public education after 37 years of teaching. His career carried him to three states and five school divisions where he taught social studies (primarily history) and coached various men’s and women’s middle school and high school teams at the varsity and junior varsity levels. “Educating America’s youth was never boring, and I enjoyed the challenge every day.” Allen currently serves on the town council and is chairman of the administrative board for his local Methodist church in Waverly, Va. He and his wife, Elizabeth, celebrated 33 years of marriage in July. Their son, Christopher Bernstorf ’12 , graduated from Lycoming. Allen is blessed to have a supportive family and hopes his classmates from his days at Lycoming are doing well. 84 Emilio “Jack” Morrone , managing partner of One Financial Services, was named 2019 Distinguished Alumni by the Foundation for Easton Schools. He accepted the award at the Sixth Annual Everything’s Coming Up Roses Gala on March 30, 2019. As a proud Red Rover and 1980 graduate of Easton Area High School, Jack considers his lifelong Easton friends and memories among the many treasures of his life. In November 2018, Jack hosted a pre-gala fundraising event where his close Easton area friends and family helped raise over $2,600 to support the Foundation for Easton Schools and its mission. At the gala, he was supported by more than 50 friends from his close group of Easton alumni, family, and co-workers from One Financial Services.
