NOTEWO WILLIAM MARTIN ’68 HONORED BY WILLIAMSPORT/LYCOMING CHAMBER OF COMMERCE William Martin ’68 was named the 2018 Lycoming College Alumnus of the Year as part of the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce Education Celebration. A lifelong resident of Williamsport, Martin earned his bachelor’s degree in biology and a teaching certificate in secondary education from Lycoming. He began his career teaching biology, chemistry, and physics at Williamsport Area High School, eventually moving out of the classroom and into the principal’s office. He later joined Pennsylvania College of Technology where he has held numerous positions throughout his tenure, presently serving as senior vice president. He is also treasurer of the board of directors of the Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation. Community service has played an important role throughout his life. Currently, Martin serves as chair of the Community Arts Center board of directors, vice chair of the Lycoming County Flag Foundation, secretary of the Williamsport Municipal Airport Authority, board member of Firetree Place, and past president of the board of directors for the Lycoming County United Way. JASON MARRACCINI ’99 PROVIDES COVERAGE OF SUPER BOWL LII Jason Marraccini ’99, a former communications major, quarterback, and two-time Lycoming football MVP, began working as a camera man for a Philadelphia news station after his time at Lycoming. In his current role as a special projects photographer for WPVI-TV’s 6ABC News, Marraccini takes photos and video for a variety of stories that pertain to health, consumer, and investigative news. One of Marraccini’s most memorable assignments was providing coverage for Super Bowl LII on Feb. 4, 2018. “As someone who played football from the time I was eight until I was 22 years old, it was a dream come true for me to cover the Super Bowl,” said Marraccini. Several other notable events covered by Marraccini include the space shuttle Columbia explosion, the papal visit to New York and Philadelphia, an interview at the White House with Michelle Obama, and the Boston Bomber arrest. He was one of the first local news drone pilots in the country, and recently launched his own full-service video production company, Infinite Drone Productions, specializing in drone video and photography.
