2018 FALL LC MAGAZINE

5 www.lycoming.edu Dear Fellow Alumni & Friends, We are now in the final year of our comprehensive Campaign for a Greater Lycoming , which will conclude June 30, 2019. The collective generosity of over 10,000 alumni and friends has enabled Lycoming to make meaningful investments in students, the academic program, and our physical campus with gifts and commitments totaling over $60 million toward our $65 million goal. In our last fiscal year alone, more than $13 million in additional gifts enabled the creation of new academic programs in biochemistry and entrepreneurship, millions in additional resources for scholarships and internships, and an expansion in the number of students studying abroad. In July, we celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Krapf Gateway Center, which represents a historic transformation of our campus. We have much to celebrate, even as we remain dedicated to the additional programs and strategic priorities that we seek to fund between now and June 30, including $2.5 million in additional gifts toward endowed scholarships, $1.25 million for a new makerspace and biochemistry labs, and $1 million to support the creation of a new academic program in data science and analytics. This final year is also about reaching even more of our fellow alumni and friends. Over the course of this campaign, 53 percent of our alumni have invested in the future of Lycoming College. We have a goal of over 60 percent between now and June 30. This is the time for all of us who believe deeply in this great institution to be part of its future. Every gift — to every program, in any amount — will advance both the objectives of the institution and the Campaign for a Greater Lycoming . This spring, Lycoming will have its first Day of Giving in anticipation of the end of the campaign. I invite you to step forward in this final year to make Lycoming even Greater!
