29 SUGGESTIONS FOR STUDENT TEACHERS The cooperating teacher may encourage the student teacher to become involved in the classroom activities during the observation/participation visits. Several suggested activities are listed below. As the cooperating teacher becomes more comfortable with the strengths of the student teacher, a request for additional and varied assignments is appropriate. If not observed, these activities or procedures need to be discussed with the cooperating teacher. Student teachers need to be able to explain concisely what they observed.
