The gorgeous weather and night sky on Friday kick-started the weekend festivities at the All-Alumni Welcome Party on the Freet Plaza outside the Krapf Gateway Center. The sisters of Alpha Rho Omega celebrated the history of their sorority throughout the weekend. Residing together in The Douthat Commons, they ended Friday evening with fellow alumni in downtown Williamsport on a Pub Crawl in their honor — complete with red, purple, and yellow glow sticks. Saturday began with brunch and culminated with the band playing “Hells Bells,” while Sunday brought a heartfelt farewell breakfast. Celebrating her 20th reunion, Christine (Colella) Zubris ’04, a certified sommelier and owner of Versi Vino Wine Bar & Kitchen in New Jersey as well as a past president of the AAEB, led a tantalizing wine tasting class. Tyler Spooner ’09 shared his talents through the art of candle making. Attendees created custom scents using 100 percent soy wax blended with premium, non-toxic fragrance oils. Spooner is the owner of Miles Welby Candle Co. (pronounced as a play on words for “might as well be”) located in downtown Williamsport. Edward Gabriel, Ph.D., associate professor emeritus of biology and environmental science, greeted guests at his lecture “Dr. Gabe: The Real Story...You Never Knew!” Excitement and laughter filled the Trogner Presentation Room in the Krapf Gateway Center as alumni were eager to spend time with their beloved professor. Back for his 50th reunion, George Schenk ’74 reminisced with fellow Warriors during his comedy hour where he presented “50 Years in 50 Minutes.” The evening air was filled with fresh florals on Saturday evening at the ever-popular Bash on the Quad featuring “A Garden Party” theme. All had the opportunity to create and take home their own bouquet in a glass vase. Winners of the best hat contest included Rebecca Donohue ’19, Brenda Bowser Soder ’98, and Nicole (Wasson) Garcia ’99. JOIN US NEXT YEAR FOR ALUMNI & REUNION WEEKEND, MAY 30 - JUNE 1, 2025!
