Together, Tom and I made classical literature come ‘ALIVE’ in my classroom!” On Aug. 30, 2022, Lindsay Repko and her husband, Stephen Holland, welcomed a new addition, Stevie Jane Repko-Holland, in San Francisco, Calif. After almost 20 years in the city by the Bay, the new family and their sassy pup, Charlie Bucket, will return to Pennsylvania, where Lindsay will maintain her online psychotherapy practice. They look forward to attending more Lyco events! 04 Katy Kresge was recently promoted to associate vice president of campus operations at Cedar Crest College. In Katy’s new role, she will oversee conference services, facilities, grounds, general services, and the Rodale Aquatic Center, as well as assume primary oversight of Cedar Crest’s contracted partners: CSI, Parkhurst, and Barnes & Noble. She will also be the primary point person for Mayfair Festival of the Arts. 05 Rev. Cynthia Betz-Bogoly has been elected to serve on the national board of The Fellowship Community with 15 other Presbyterian Church USA pastors from across the country. The Fellowship Community is a network of churches and leaders called together to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ by growing in Christ’s likeness, living by God’s word, and joining in God’s mission in the world. Cynthia also continues to serve as the pastor of Elkins Park Presbyterian Church in the Presbytery of Philadelphia. 06 Michele Connors recently published her research titled “Systems in K-12 Education and Their Impact on Providing ‘Excellence’ in Supervision” in the book “Systems Thinking for Instructional Designers: Catalyzing Organizational Change” (Bond et al., 2022). Her article evaluates the supervision and evaluation process through the lens of Systems Theory in a rural public high school in Pennsylvania. She also presented her project titled “Sunnyside Inspirations: Using Irving’s ‘The Sketch Book’ to Inspire the Light in Middle Level/ Secondary Creative Writers” at the National Council of Teachers of English Annual Convention in Anaheim, Calif., on Nov. 17, 2022. Her presentation aimed to teach secondary educators about using Washington Irving’s “The Sketch Book” as a mentor text to shine their own lights in a unique creative writing unit, which allows them to experiment through a series of literary sketches and a short story, all cataloged in their own virtual sketch books. Michele is an assistant principal at Pocono Mountain West High School in Pocono Summit, Pa., and a doctoral student in the educational leadership and administration program at East Stroudsburg University in East Stroudsburg, Pa. Sarah Reck is now assistant director of digital marketing with Random House Children’s Books, a division of Penguin Random House. In this new role, she oversees digital marketing efforts for brand and licensed titles (Dr. Seuss, Magic Tree House, Disney, etc.) and graphic novels. Recently, she had the opportunity to be a panelist on the Buzziest Books of 2022 panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Gabrielle (Harper) and Patrick Gardiner welcomed their second child, a son, James Patrick Gardiner, on Oct. 29, 2022. James joins big sister, Grace. 11 Melody Johnson recently published her sixth novel, “Sight Beyond the Sun, Book 2,” in the former creative writing major’s thrilling sci-fi romance series, released on Jan. 24, 2023. This highly anticipated sequel is Melody’s sixth romance novel and ninth publication. Midwest Book Review describes it as “A brilliant blending of romance with science fiction. ‘Sight Beyond the Sun’ is a fun and original read by an author with a genuine flair for the kind of narrative driven storytelling that makes for a memorable novel — the kind that lingers in the mind and memory long after the book has been finished and set back upon the shelf.” Book one in the “Love Beyond” series, “Beyond the Next Star,” earned the 2021 Maggie Award for Excellence. In addition to hardcover, paperback, and eBook formats, Melody released an audiobook edition of “Beyond the Next Star” in October 2022, which is available on iTunes, audible, and Amazon.com. 10 Kyle Hickman is the association manager for the Mattison Corporation in Indianapolis, Ind. Under that title, he serves three different organizations in various capacities — assistant executive director of the two state-based associations, and most recently a new role as executive director of Rebuilding Together Indianapolis, which combines his passion for community revitalization with his 10+ year career in nonprofit management. Kyle remains involved with Lycoming College through his service in the Alumni Council for Fraternity and Sorority Life. As chair, he had the opportunity to help shape the fraternity and sorority life experience for undergraduates and build connections with fellow Lycoming alumni.
