GATEWAY BUILDING SQUARE FEET TOTAL PROJECT COST RECEIVED BY THE GEORGE I. ALDEN TRUST LYNN & SPENCER MATCH PROGRAM $ 12.5 M 28 K $ 500 K $ 125 K $ 100 K Construction of the Krapf Gateway Center, a key component to the Campaign, began in July 2018. The $12.5 million, 28,000-square-foot building will become home to the offices of admissions, College advancement, the Center for Enhanced Academic Experiences, and Outdoor Leadership and Education. With a completion date set for Sept. 30, 2019, a dedication will follow during Homecoming & Family Weekend. Until then, view time-lapse imaging of the construction and sitework progress at gateway.lycoming.edu . Lynn & Spencer Biochemistry Match Program Cheryl (Eck) Spencer ’70 and Peter ’69 ’15H and Joyce Lynn have generously committed $100,000 in matching funds to support the construction and repurposing of existing space in the Heim Science Building to service a biochemistry teaching laboratory, faculty research laboratory, and office space to provide facilities for Lycoming’s newly offered biochemistry major. The total project cost is $500,000. The goal of the Lynn & Spencer Biochemistry Match Program is to partner with alumni and friends, doubling all gifts and commitments to raise a total of $200,000. The match program, combined with a $125,000 grant received by the George I. Alden Trust, will provide the necessary funds for this project to be completed by the start of the fall 2019 semester.
