LYCOMING COLLEGE 2019 SPRING F A C U L T Y S P O T L I G H T DAN I E L H A L L , D . M . A . A S S I S TA N T P R O F E S S O R O F M U S I C MU $ IC The Sound of D aniel Hall, D.M.A., joined the faculty at Lycoming College as assistant professor of music in the fall of 2017. He is the director of choral activities at Lycoming, conducting the Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, and Tour Choir. He also serves as conductor of the Williamsport Chamber Choir and Orchestra. How did you first become interested in music? I have always been fascinated by sonority and rhythm. As a child, the most significant musical influence in my life was certainly my mom. She was not trained, but she was a connoisseur. She knew good music! We had many classical albums, and at a tender age, we were snuggling and listening to great composers. Exposure is essential, and my mom provided me with great music — not just the classics, but other genres, too. To support Lycoming's Tour Choir trip to France in May 2019, gifts can be made at www.lycoming.edu/france. 28
