A May 21, 2019, The New York Times article, for example, reports on various efforts to draft federal policy that will mandate the collection and publishing of “program” level data on debt and income. The article highlights the disparities in income by field of study and notes that accountants and civil engineers from less prestigious institutions earn more money than psychology and architecture majors from very highly regarded public universities.
