ART Faculty Award for Excellence in Photography The outstanding senior art major in this field Roger D. Shipley Award The outstanding senior art major in fine art Faculty Award for Achievement in Fine Art The outstanding art major in studio art/art history Commercial Design Award The outstanding senior art major in commercial design FILM/VIDEO ARTS The Gertrude B. Madden Communication Award The senior communication major who has best integrated academic excellence, professional development in a mass media field and contributions to campus media and the communication department MUSIC Dr. Will George Butler Band Award Given to an underclassmen student who has shown outstanding growth as an instrumentalist, as determined by the director of the band The Michelle Bohlin Award in Theatre & Music Given to a student majoring in music to be used to purchase music, lessons and related expenses. Preference shall be given to a non-traditional student demonstrating strong commitment to both instrumental performance, particularly piano, as well as music education and theatre Walter G. McIver Award An outstanding and dedicated choir member who has made significant campus contributions outside of choir The William T. and Ruth S. Askey Music Prize A graduating senior who is recognized for his/her proficiency as a music major Williamsport Civic Chorus Award A Lycoming College choir member who has outstanding musical ability and who has made significant leadership contributions to the choir Dr. Will George Butler Choir Award Given to an underclassmen student who has shown outstanding growth as a vocalist, as determined by the director of the choir • DEPARTMENTAL AWARDS • The Arts
